CREATURES OF THE DEEP AND DREAMS OVERSEAS
THE GREENWICH TALL SHIP FESTIVAL

EMERGENCY EXIT ARTS' STREET ACADEMY AND THE SPECTATORS’ GUILD
6 and 7 SEPTEMBER 2014

Myself, Miguel Hernando Torres Umba and Matthew Schmolle worked with Alex Evans from Emergency Exit Arts and forty 18- 25 year olds for a weekly evening session over a seven week period to develop and devise two new shows around the theme of ships.

The group had been formed from the young people who had been part of the community chorus for VENICE PRESERV’D. They were keen to continue developing their performance skills and to have the opportunity to have a creative hand in the building of work. It also gave us a great way to continue the partnership we had formed with Emergency Exit Arts over this period.

The two shows we created- CREATURES OF THE DEEP and DREAMS OVERSEAS - were performed underneath the Cutty Sark during the Greenwich Tall Ship Festival 2014.
